Elevated Foundations

For many coastal homeowners, Chance Helical Piles have proven to be an ideal foundation option because of their versatility. Recognized by FEMA as an alternative option to timber and pre-casted concrete piles, helical piles provide a cost competitive way to exceed state and local guidelines for base flood elevation.

Designed for Flood Zones

Hubbell Power Systems, Inc. (HPS) has advanced this technology through the years with continued research and development to diversify the application opportunities.

For high capacity loads, the reccomended system is the Chance Helical Pulldown Micropile (HPM). This solution is ideal for areas where homes need to be elevated per local building code and FEMA requirements. The HPM is an engineered system of constructing a grouted column around the shaft of the standard Chance Helical Pile Foundation System. This solution can be designed for coastal A and V Flood Zones while offering an alternative design option to more traditional elevation methods such as timber or concrete.

Key Benefits:

  • Get lateral strength that can support the structure for future storm impact

  • Ideal for weak soil sites or areas with high water tables

  • Exceed FEMA standards and Building Code requirements with a solution that is easy to install in any weather
